About him
Born in Yorkshire, I've spent most of my career in Cambridge and Oxford, so I guess that makes me an economic migrant.
I commuted to London for a while, but now I have ten more hours a week for buzzing around Oxford on my bike, which is much more rewarding, though a shared experience is surely greater than the sum of its parts. Workwise, I make books happen.
Having renovated one house, I'm embarking on another project.
Politics? A kaleidoscope of green, orange, red, and Heseltine blue. Are Rejoiners allowed on this site? Admirer of the WEP and CFFP. As a workplace union rep, I worried about stress and welfare. I spent a lot of time last year representing and supporting colleagues at risk of redundancy. That earned me a bottle of gin from one appreciative survivor of the process.
Rusty French and German are good enough to get us food and shelter without Brit-abroad humiliation. I can get us a coffee in Italy too.
