In these challenging times, I thought I'd share some words which encapsulated my approach when I was responsible for the safety and security of aid workers, including myself, confined to compounds in war-torn South Sudan:-

I've worked in various roles for charities and NGOs around the world.
For the last three years, I've been giving talks on cruise ships about places I've visited and my adventures.
I enjoy a wide range of music, world cinema, art and theatre.
I spend my time writing, reading, attending pub quizzes, playing bridge, tennis and table tennis.
