About him
My friends would say I was intelligent, generous, positive with a great sense of humour and pretty down to earth. I have recently retired, after a pretty successful executive career that took me all over the world. I am well travelled and as Johnny Cash would say “ I’ve been everywhere man “ . There are however places I still want to visit and explore particularly South America and hopefully with a future partner. I do like to explore the cultural and historical places but don’t mind some time on the beach……..
I would say my biggest “North Star” in life would be fairness and treating everyone as you want to be treated. I am much more of a tomorrow person than a yesterday one and have a positive outlook on most things, albeit that has been severely tested by the current political situation over the last few years !
I am pretty active, go to the gym and play golf and cycle. I am also an avid watcher of Football, Rugby and Cricket. I also like to go on long walks and happy with fine dining or a pub meal.
I am very independent (I live on my own) and can cook and use a drill (smile). I have a very extended family situation that are very important to me.
Despite not being creative at all, I really appreciate the arts especially all sorts of music, the theatre and galleries and I go into London regularly. I think it was Samuel Johnson who said if you tire of London then you tire of life. I think that is very true.

About his ideal match
Someone who has the same values as me with a positive outlook on life and who looks forward to the future and not the past. They don’t have to like everything I do but it would be great, if there was some commonality. Clearly there would need to be some chemistry in order to maintain a long term relationship but let’s see how this goes.
