As I head into 2026 it's the perfect time for reflection, resolutions & a reality check!
Happy to reflect on a very good year. Took advice from the late Dr Mosley & joined up for his Mediterranean Diet plan. 3 months later I'm a stone lighter, a healthy weight & eating better than ever. Decided to help the diet by starting C25k & completed that 2 weeks ago.
I guess a resolution will be to keep up the good work! Will be incorporating parkrun into my life, along with golf & some pilates for rainy days - feel very fortunate I have time and energy to look after me.
Having moved to Shropshire just 18 months ago I've been truly blessed to find new friends here & my life is pretty much perfect. The only thing missing is a man!
Now, do I really need a man? I've asked myself that question often this year. Why bother? I can put up a shelf, paper a wall, change a plug, complete the crossword - all by myself.
What do I miss? Honestly? Well, here goes -
laughing at bad jokes
being admired, missed, wanted
being needed, excited, sated
sharing plans, hopes, dreams
surrendering responsibility occasionally
complete trust
and, of course, a decent cup of tea
That's quite a list, so I'm not holding out a lot of hope. In the interim I'll keep living my best life, with my fingers crossed & eyes open, just in case he's out there somewhere.

Tall, dark and handsome? Not especially. Taller than me would be good (I'm only 5' 4" so not a problem for many). I don't require an Adonis - a mature characterful face would interest me more. I don't wish to be ageist because none of us are getting any younger, but I'd hope to meet someone with good energy levels, who keeps himself generally fit and healthy. No smoking/tattoos, sorry.
I'm impressed by quiet confidence, not arrogance. I really don't like someone who needs to be the centre of attention, but don't think I'd be much of a match for someone who is shy or very reserved either. I'm hoping to meet someone to walk beside me and be a partner in crime, to have a meeting of minds and spirit, who will make my heart skip a beat when I see him and leave me looking forward to our next encounter.
