About her
I am a kind person who tries not to take life too seriously. I have a dry sense of humour and a curious nature. I am definitely one of those people who really needs to press that button just to see what it does, and then take it apart and try to fix it when nothing happens. I am a problem solver and am well know for “having a plan” when things go wrong, but what could go wrong, right?
It’s important to me that the people around me are happy and I will often do little things to cheer up the people I care about when they are having a tough day. I am incredibly lucky to be surrounded by similarly minded, amazing people on a daily basis.
I’m not a great singer but I enjoy a diverse range of music and love to sing around the house, and sometimes even at work when I think no one can hear me. Fortunately I work with a great team of people who are very forgiving.
I am a single parent and live with my two children, a cat, and a rescue dog. Life can be a hectic juggling act and sometimes I drop the ball. I would love to find someone who could occasionally catch that for me.
I like to spend time out and about with my dog, enjoying the countryside and local scenery. A lovely walk that ends in a pub lunch is one of my favourite days out. Pub quizzes with friends, fish and chips by the sea, walks along the beach, generally feeling the sun on my face and the wind in my hair, all make me happy.
I have never been the sporty type so fitness for me is dance classes, walking and yoga.
I strongly dislike greedy and arrogant people. My principal ethos is that you should treat others as you would like to be treated.
Finally, I have been single for 8 years. I’m just starting to get time back for myself now and I think I am worth getting to know. Time to open the door to new possibilities. Like I said, what could go wrong?

I almost chose “searching for a unicorn” as my profile headline. How corny is that? But really I’d just like to meet someone who treats me fairly and with respect, and makes me laugh.
My ideal person is someone smart, kind and funny, who doesn’t take life too seriously, and genuinely cares about people. Someone who is prepared to understand that sometimes my plans have to change at the last minute. Someone who’s glass is half full, and always looks for the positives in any situation. If they are also familiar with the operation of household appliances and capable of identifying which box the recycling goes into, fantastic.
I don’t really have a “type”. I’m looking for someone with an interesting face rather than what might be considered handsome/film star looks. I generally prefer dark hair and brown or grey eyes, average build, nice arms (weird I know), but being a lovely person, being able to chat about serious issues or total nonsense, is far more important to me. Attraction is far more than looks alone.
Ultimately I’d like to meet someone who I can sit in the sunshine with at the end of the day, glass of wine in hand, and chat about anything.
