About her
Happy as I am in my life, the incurable romantic and eternal optimist in me hopes that I shall one day find a kind, romantic and affectionate man who wants to embrace life and love - with me! Friendship would be a very good place to start, though, and to make a friend would be wonderful, even if nothing more develops.
I’m something of an introvert but can be quite sociable, although I prefer the company of one other person or small groups of friends. A thinker and a dreamer, I also love to laugh and have fun. I’m quite well-travelled but there is a lot of the world, much of it in this country, that I would still like to see. I’m fairly well educated but open to learning more. I’m affectionate and loving and take my relationships with others very seriously.
I like the smells and colours of autumn and the hope of spring; (nice) surprises; walking in all weathers by the sea or down a country lane that leads to a nice pub; lazy conversation after a good meal while still gathered around a table; companionable silence; good coffee and frosty mornings; early summer mornings that make you want to get up and out; winter evenings involving a fire, good wine and, if I am lucky, good company; the sound of rain falling; a book you just can’t put down yet whose end you want to delay for as long as possible because then you will have to put it down; Radio 4; Radio 4 Extra; exploring new places, having a kindred spirit in my life - someone to whom I am important as he would be to me.
I couldn't envisage a world without the spoken and written word in the form of literature, poetry, cinema and theatre. I love music for its ability to transport and to entertain and my taste ranges from The Eagles and Jim Croce to pieces such as Adagio for Strings by Samuel Barber or Chopin.
I find the world around me interesting, fascinating, moving and often funny. I want to go on experiencing it and it would be wonderful to do that with a good friend, or someone who becomes more than that.
