Freshly 75 I am easy going, friendly, a good conversationalist and my chronological age is incongruent with my vitality and enthusiasm (A mouthful that but accurate! Put more simply you would never guess my age!)
Interests:
A bit of a news junkie & a sucker for good TV drama.
Singing - opera & classical with local & nationally known orchestras and companies.
Sunshine holidays - especially the Italian Lakes, France & Morocco (to use my French while getting a suntan!).
Travel generally - never packages and, usually, I am in the driving seat. I tour Europe in a modest LHD motorhome. (Still have a motorcycle but now not getting much use).
Likes: Italian Lakes, the Alps, the Highlands, Victoria Wood, Radio 4, I'm Sorry I Haven't a Clue, a good box set, warmth, away breaks, an occasional bacon butty & mug of tea (Bliss!)
Dislikes (Spoiler alert. My blustering list is intended to amuse. I am a "pussycat" really!): Call queues, bureaucracy, pomposity, arrogance, narrow-minded thought, drop down lists that try to pigeonhole you, the culture of celebrity, Facebook, Brexit triumphalism, Donald Trump, MAGA politics, Fake News, motorway lane hogging, Oh and split infinitives!
I enjoy conversation on most anything but especially current affairs and good TV drama.
In these post-Covid times I am up for video calls or a meet to share a coffee & cake - well one each!
My username is based on a favourite cameo opera role. Spalanzani (Tales of Hoffman) is the eccentric creator of a mechanical doll (Think Coppélia - Broadly the same story). However I am not looking to share good times with a robotic Ai clone but rather a partner with emotional & physical warmth!

A personality that is a good foil for mine. Very little idea what that is but I would guess ultimately a warm, affectionate, tactile person would suit best. However an ambition to collapse in a heap together laughing is the real priority! A bubbly woman who likes good conversation and a hug would be a good start!
I still enjoy work (from home) at the moment but I am rapidly being dragged kicking and screaming in the direction of retirement. However meantime I enjoy the company, the mental stimulation and, last but not least , the money!
